Round Stars

This is the first quilt I ever made. The coloured material was purchased at a church fete, the white material is gaberdine. The quilt is made using a single diamond template. The star is continued in the white section. Its a double bed size.

Amish Test Quilt

This quilt measures about 30cm square. It was done as a colour test for a full size Amish quilt.

Renees' Baby Quilt

This quilt was made for my friend Renee's first baby. It is made of polycotton material. The centre panel is a traditional applique pattern that was adapted into a quilting pattern. The quilting was done in stem stitch, using embroidary cotton. This panel is done in pale pink, green and blue. The rest of the quilt is done in straight lines, using traditional methods.

Dad's Amish Inspired

I made this quilt for my Dad. It's often hard to make a quilt suitable for a man but the colours in this are quite effective. This quilt is made out of polycotton fabric, is hand pieced and hand quilted. Each block is 40cm square. It won first prize at the Newcastle Show in 1992.

Katie's 21st Quilt

This quilt was made as a sort of family commission. I made it for my step sister for her 21st Birthday, with fabric supplied by her Mum.

Due South Charity Quilt

I co-ordinated the making of this quilt for the first Due South Fan Convention - RCW139 held in Toronto, Canada in 1996. It was made up of blocks sent in by people from USA, Australia, and Canada. It was hand pieced and hand quilted. It was auctioned at the charity auction held at the convention. It sold for just under $400 Canadian, with monies from the auction going to several charities chosen by the cast of that great show, "Due South".

Goddess Lap Quilt

This is a pattern I designed. It is made up a machine appliqued panels, of goddess figures. The quilt was made of homepun and machine pieced and quilted. This project was completed in a week. It was my first attempt at machine quilting. As many newcomers to this technique say, "Don't look at the back!". It was made in the week of 25th April to 1st of May, 1999.

Mariner's Compass Quilt Bag

This bag was made using two 16" Mariner's Compass Blocks. This was my first attempt at a Mariner's compass block. I used a template from Judy Mathisons book, Mariner's Compass Quilts: New Directions. It is hand pieced and hand quilted made out of 100% cotton. The bag was made over most of June 1999. The bag is my quilting bag, first used at the 1999 Sydney Women's Weekly Craft Show!

Triple Nine Patch

This quilt is a gift for a couple of friends in the USA. I am grid quilting the coloured blocks, and quilting a large star in the black areas. It is a larger treatment of the Elemental Wallhanging above.

Unfortunatley, the scan hasn't come out very well. Anyway, below is a close up of the quilting in the alternate black squares. I used white pencil to mark the pattern. I left the pencil in so you would be able to see it in the photo.

Below that is a close up of the red square. All the coloured squares were done in a simple cross hatch pattern with the thread the same colour as the fabric.

This one took me a quite a while to do but that's because I would only done it a little bit at a time. However, I am pleased with the results and I think the people I am giving it to will be happy as well.
