Australian Scrapbooking Info

News and Hot Products

This page will list recently released products that are will be available soon. In order to show these products I will link to either the manufacturers homepage or if one isn't available, a online shop selling that product. Linking to an online store in this section DOES NOT constitute an endorsement of that store.

Below you will see a "Donate" button. I have added this in an attempt to bring OzScrappin back to its orginial (ad free) home. I had to move OzScrappin to GeoCities because it was costing me a small fortune to host it. If I can generate some money form donations, I should be able to bring it back to an ad free environment and make more additions to the site. So if you get some benefit from this site, please consider making a donation.

  • Applique Station by Brother - Well, an interesting little machine. Its basically a stand alone machine for making appliques. Its been advertised in a couple of scrapbook magazines, using it to make sewn words etc for use on layouts. Work by inserting a thread cartridge and selecting patterns in built in the machine. Sells for $90US in the USA.
  • Provocraft Brads and Storage - Provocraft are putting out a range of brads in a variety of colours. But the interesting thing with this range is that it includes sets of tilt bins for storage. 6 bins for about $7US, no pics yet.

    • Geo Dies - a range of geometric shapes in two sizes, one size per die.
    • Quilting Shapes - flower, Dresden fan, leaves, diamond, 1/4 circle. Could be used to make templates or cut actual material. No ideas on the size of the shapes yet.

    • Paddle Punch - a new type of anywhere on the page punch. Shape is on the end of a paddle, which is then put on the paper and struck with a hammer to make the cut out.
    • Script Alphabet - Upper and Lower case. Very elegant, going to be great for the more adult type pages, esp weddings etc.
    • Sizzix Tote - for the hard core Sizzix person a new bright red branded tote for carry machine, dies and paper.
  • Tag Punches - no photos yet but a new range of tag punches, two or three shapes in several sizes from Emaginations. No release date but they are gonna be popular.
  • Chatterbox Co-ordinates Range - Chatterbox are back after a couple of years absence with a new range of very simple, elegant co-ordinates, that include cardstock, patterned paper, matching emllishements (snaps etc), frames, and journalling boxes. These look great but that is going to be reflected in the price. The range is set up using an interior design theme, with cardstock presented on colour swatches and named after rooms of a house. Various elements are given architectural names, eg foundations (cardstock), walls (patterned paper) etc.
  • New Paper Releases from - Doodlebug Designs, Mustard Moon, K and Co, Sonnets by Creative Imaginations, Monocramatic sets from Bazzil, pre-stitched paper from DMD.
  • Misc New Stuff - Faux wax seals, tiny letters to fit on the end of brads, metal frames etc from Making Memories, various new ranges of lumpy bumpy embellishments like Jolee.
  • CK now Aussie Focused and Cheaper - CK has done a deal with Express Publications. Express will now print CK in Australia, which will make it alot cheaper, down to about $10 from the current $18. Also, they will be Australianising some of the adverstising content - getting rid of American adds and replacing them with Australian ones. It will also be available by subscription.

  • Franchville Patterned Paper - nothing too spectacular but nice to see some Aussie patterened papers hitting the market. Available in colourways at present time (purple, green, blue, pink) with 6 patterns (solid, blurred star, ripple, heart, plaid, dots). The papers are sold individually or in packs of 6 (one colour, one of each pattern). The good thing about these is that they are available from Spotlight at $1 a sheet, which puts them about 20c - 50c per sheet below similar imported papers.
  • Poetry Dog Tags - these are metal dog tags with various words printed on them. Not sure how I would use them but I think they are cool.

  • Paper Racks - nothing very trendy but very handy! Finally, we are able to get these very cool and useful paper racks here in Australia! Each rack has ten slots and are stackable.

  • Vase Punches - I loved these not so little suckers the first time I saw them. Designed by the Punch Bunch, they come in three styles - Wedgewood, Ming and Pueblo. I just love the shape of these punches. Also a watering can and easter basket available and check out the multi-shape tea set punch! Under Punches -> Super Giant (the vases come in at 5cm or approx 2" in size, so great size to work with).
