Basics

If you are wondering what are the basics supplies needed to start scrapping, I would suggest:

  • An acid-free, lignin free, PVC free album. If money is a bit tight you could start with just the pages and save for the actual album. The important thing is to decide on the album that you want to use. There are two main sizes 12"x12" and 8"x11". The other thing to consider is if you would like a post bound or ring binder type album. It really is a matter of personal choice.

  • An acid-free, waterproof, fade-resistant pen, available in many colours. Start with a black pen as this would probably be used the most for your journalling. The Zig Millenium and Sakura Pigma Pens are the two most widely used pens for journalling.

  • Acid-free adhesive.

  • Pair of straight scissors

  • Acid-free, lignin free coloured mounting paper Then there are all the extras that you just "have" to have eg stickers, die cuts, templates, circle cutter ...... (a seemingly never ending list). You will soon learn that shopping for scrap stuff is just as fun as scrapping.
